Chiron X Series: Advanced training prepares for future threats

Looking at the evolving global threats and crime, there are increasingly higher requirements for training in varied scenarios and potential dangers. To prepare soldiers and police for real challenges and the unpredictable, realistic training with simulation of actual threats is fundamental.

Based on advanced materials, and years of research and development, Australian company Chiron Global Tech has developed a high-tech body armor system with training and operational applications for defense, police, security and corrections personnel. The recently launched Chiron-X1™ training suit is manufactured from advanced composites with a patented design that enables highly realistic Close Quarter Combat (CQC)training, increasing survivability, and reducing injuries during training exercises.

Chiron’s engineering and design team spent several years developing multiple prototypes of the X1 training suit and trialing them with hundreds of defense and law enforcement end-users including special forces operators, naval boarding and clearance units, infantry personnel and police tactical operations units before launching the flagship X1 product.

The Chiron X body armor platform also forms the basis of two operational suits for riot /public order and operational breaching scenarios. The products are currently under development with plans to launch them by early 2025.

Chiron’s flagship product, the Chiron-X1™, takes close quarter combat (CQC) training to a whole new level of realism. The Chiron-X1™combines superior mobility with high levels of protection, allowing highly realistic training in close combative and threatening situations.

The Chiron-X1™ is a protective, full-coverage training armor system designed to withstand high levels of impact and speed against vital targets. This includes protection for the head, neck, and chest from blunt weapons during CQC training. The Chiron-X1™ enables simultaneous CQC and Non Lethal Munitions Training (kinetic to non-kinetic) activity without the need to change equipment.

Chiron-X1™’s unique design makes the suit lightweight and allows for a wide range of movements, flexibility, and faster reaction time, allowing the wearer to train more realistically for longer periods of time. The unique, patented solution provides optimal protection for the head, neck, throat, and spine and prevents compression, hyperextension, and whiplash during high-force CQC training.

The suit includes a washable hygiene/comfort layer (Chiron Layer Zero™) worn under a hard layer with a strong outer shell. Chiron Layer Zero™ is made from various high-performance technical fabrics, available in a range of options.

The Chiron-X1R™ is a highly protective full body armor system designed especially for Law Enforcement / Public Order and Corrections personnel. The Chiron-X1R™Riot Armor is ideal for civil unrest/riot protection, and high-risk scenarios, including violent situations, prisoner transport and high-risk situations.

The suit is lightweight, extremely manoeuvrable and provides comprehensive coverage against a variety of threats, including heavy blunt weapons, bladed weapons, spikes and projectiles. Designed to withstand high levels of force and speed of attack against vital targets such as the head, neck and chest, the Chiron-X1R™ offers enhanced levels of coverage and protection over traditional counter-insurgency equipment.

Chiron-X1R™ provides powerful protection for the head and face, neck, shoulders, upper arms, elbows, forearms, chest, back, abdomen, groin, thighs, knees and calves. The Chiron-X1R™ is made from advanced composites and absorbent materials that withstand high impact, with additional secondary coverage against puncture wounds, it comes with a range of upgrade options, including a fire retardant underlayer and integrated gas filtration.

Chiron-X3™ is a highly protective, integrated system developed for front-line defense personnel and Police. The lightweight and agile Chiron-X3™ is designed to improve the survivability and mobility of operational personnel in high-risk situations, building entry and clearance scenarios, offering comprehensive protection against a variety of threats. This includes heavy blunt weapons, bladed weapons, projectiles, and small arms. Designed to absorb high levels of force and speed from attacks on vital targets such as the head, neck and chest, the Chiron-X3™ is ideal for violent close-quarter combat.

The Chiron-X3’s modular design allows for full or partial coverage, according to user needs, and customization of individual components that protect against specific threat levels or user requirements. The system has options for integrating third-party technology inside the suit.
